Check out the Diversity Map of Arkansas.

That's a good link, Bull.

FYI, in case anybody else ran in to it, I originally tried that diversity map link on my laptop during a 5:30 A.M. power outage.

Three times, opening the link caused IE to crash. Win2000 pro with all updates.

My desktop with XP pro didn't mind it a bit.

Well, I just tried it on my Dell with XP Pro at work. It loaded just fine.

The maps are pdf files, though. Perhaps your Win2000 pdf reader is not up to snuff.

About the Diversity Map of Arkansas: I thought it pretty interesting that Yell, Sevier and Bradley counties all had significant percentages of Other Race. I wonder what that is and why? I figure it must be Mexican since, even though it is a nationality and not a race, faced with the choice of White, Black, American Indian, Asian, Pacific and Other Race, most Mexicans would choose Other Race.

My question is, why would so many Mexicans be attracted to those counties?

I don't know anything about Sevier or Bradley counties but Yell has a large hispanic population because the food plants in Russellville.

OH! OK. Got it.

I also noticed that the percent number in each county is the Mexican/Hispanic percentage of all races in the counties. Interesting.

One county, Clay, appears to be all white with a 1% Hispanic.

That is very possible. I'm using 7.0 on both the laptop and the desktop, but you know they're gonna dance diffrently with different OS's. Just thought I'd include that in case somebody else experienced it.

As Stormcrow mentioned, I would think that the highest concentrations of Hispanics would be where the jobs are. In Izard, we have none to speak of, now that the 5 we did have got busted for large scale cannabis farming.

In Independence County, just to the south, the poulation is higher with ConAgra and Pilgrims Pride operations there.

Still don't have a taqueria, though.

Dang it! I wuz hopin' they'd still be there when I got there... Didn't anybody warn them about that eye in the sky? No puede hacer eso! Guess I'll have to hire some more. [I hope you know I'm kidding]

Don't get me started on Mexican food. Be it Tex-Mex or the real deal, I could live exclusively on Mexican cuisine. ... That and Cajun'.

Did you look at the Housing Breakdown map? It shows the pie chart by county of owner occupied, renter occupied, and vacant. If you compare Arkansas to Michigan our (AR) vacancy rate looks really good.
