Well I'm getting my degree in Journalism (this Dec.) so I'm looking for entry level work in the media either broadcast, print and even social but my concentration is in print.
But I don't know if I can find anything in Fort Smith so I'll settle for an office job until I can find a media position else where.

I've filled out applications for three temp. agencies and haven't heard anything back yet. I've tried looking in the paper and online too.

Well, if you are looking to get a chance to build a portfolio, The City Wire is looking for writers. It probably wouldn't pay you anything, but it may help you get your foot in somewhere.

email them: publisher@thecitywire.com

The City Wire | Our Community, Online

Experian in Van Buren is always hiring. It is an inbound call center. Don't know about pay.

Awesome! Thanks.

I have a good amount of clippings when I was writing for my school paper but I can always use more.
I'll check out both.

If you're locked in on Ft. Smith, so be it, but in my region, hearing various radio stations and KAIT TV announcing they are seeking personnel is a common thing.

Yes, I'm kind of a stuck for a while. I figured if I have to move to another part of Arkansas and find an apartment for work then I might as well just move back to Houston. I'd be doing the same thing but I'd be back in the city and with friends. So I'm looking for work in Fort Smith and the surrounding towns, no more than a 30 mile radius.

Have you applied at Cox Communications? They tend to look for new salespeople all the time? It may not be the area you're interested in, but sales will give you a broad experience.

Should my wife and I go to Petit Jean today or wait a few weeks??? I might ride over to Craig's BBQ if we don't go up there.

I'll be 40 Wednesday, and I want to go on a little road trip this weekend.
