Once a Missouri regulation gets on the books it usually stays. Hard times sometimes helps with taxes and regulations but only if it costs the state more money to maintain than it does the population. IMO

And they are supposed to be working for us, hmmmmmm!

I think I remember being present for one from the 1980's.
Its stretching my memory but apparently it depended a lot on making friends with the mechanic. I think I was in Arkansas anyways.

Sorry to hear such an increase jim. As I understand in Missouri we are charged by horsepower. The tags I am renewing are for my deceased wifes Mercury Sable which is $36.75 a year but I have the option of buying for 2 years for $73.50, no break for them having my next years money ahead of time but keeps me from having to pay the extra $ 6.50 for the inspection. I have been retired for 15 years and only go to the store for groceries, (25 miles roundtrip) it seems just yesterday I renewed the tags.LOL

When I retired I could sometimes find Campbell soup 5 for $1. Can't believe I am now paying .68 cents a can now. A can of Steak & Shake chili was $2.48 a can. I have stopped buying the chili.

Hope you can make it back to Ark. soon jim!

Geeze, where do you get Campbells soup for .68 or are you talking about off brands? We usually get our soup from Aldi's and it is about that much... I just shutter when I shop. Unfortunately I love to cook, so it is hard to keep the food budget in tact...

I do have a small graden and I do a lot of canning in the summer, but I can't very well can Chicken, steak, etc. Well I could, but that isn't the kind of canning I do..

You have to also remember that I live in a tourist area and pay tourist prices for the most part of the year except for January and February which the prices are usually "rolled back". I usually stock up at this time of the year, not this year. Of course some people don't realize that the items in the front of the store are more expensive than the same item at the back of the store. Walk a little farther and save some money.

When my wife and I would visit her brother in Lake St. Louis we would stop at Walmart in Sullivan, Mo. and load up on cosmedics and cleaning items as their prices were always cheaper than our tourist prices. Stores will charge prices "whatever the traffic will bare". Farmers and farm stores prices are consistantly cheaper than box stores. IMO

My daffodiles are blooming today with the sun and temps!

Mine haven't started yet, but I keep thinking everyday, they will pop open. They really are too crowded. Hopefully I will get my you know what in gear and separate them this fall.

daffodilles started been blooming here about 10 days ago.

They must not need much attention because some are blooming also by a deserted house I pass on my daily walk.
