Default Posting new pictures!

Hi everybody....just wanted y'all to notice that I've posted some new pictures and I'm working on another batch right now. I think they give a good idea of how beautiful Arkansas is.

It sure is a time-consuming process, which is why I've been putting off doing it....seems like it takes about 5 minutes or so to upload each picture! We have a fairly new computer (1 year old) with dual processor and plenty of RAM. Does it take that long for the rest of you to upload pictures to this site?

Your upload time should be a function of your internet bandwidth, CD's bandwidth and the traffic load while you're uploading and not really your machine specs. The one time I've uploaded pics to here, I don't remember it taking me that long on dsl.

Post them at a photo hosting site like Photobucket or Flickr and link to them. I like to put a bunch of related pictures in a Photobucket album and then link to them as a slideshow.

I'm not sure what system you are using, but images will upload faster if they are downsized from the originals to an appropriate size for display on the screen. If you're using a [3MB or larger image] digital camera, the image is much larger than necessary to display on a computer monitor. I can't speak to the most effective way to do this on a Windows system, but on a Mac all the functions for image resizing as well as other editing are available in iPhoto which comes with all Macs. On Windows systems, you could use Photoshop Elements which is less than $100, but there may be other solutions at less cost.
