Default Safe/Good Places to live in Jonesboro

I'm up for a job in Jonesboro and was wondering where some good, safe places were to live? Is Jonesboro the place to be, or live just outside the city a bit safer and neater. I'm coming from North Carolina and live in a nice sub-division with it's own pool for the houses & play area for the kids. Anything like that in or around? Need help please, thank you!!

It is really easier to list the places to avoid but here are some of my general guidelines.

Anything south of the 63 bypass is A.O.K. and is pretty much suburbia.

The closer you get to downtown and Johnson Ave. the more property you will likely be "donating" to your neighbors and random vagrants. I'm not saying to avoid places close to downtown, but avoid the area in between downtown and Johnson and pretty much anything directly off Johnson. If you go far enough north of Johnson it gets nice again and also if you go far enough east or west on Johnson away from downtown and campus.

The outlying towns are all nice and quiet with nothing going on; Bono, Brookland, Bay.

Valley View area is a nice, "richy" area. Westside is a good area. How about South or Jonesboro near Harrisburg or north toward Paragould?
