I find it hard to believe that AR has a dry county that doesn't have at least one "supper club".

As for making your own, have at it. I'm in a dry county and a lot of people do. I've got a neighbor that does a batch of moonshine now & again.

You can tell when he's cooked it off by the number of pickup trucks in his drive.

Harrison, is dry only in that you can't buy package liquor. There are eleven, count 'em, eleven private watering holes in the county where memberships are free, all the way up to five dollars per year.

Home brew and winemaking are legal, and if I say so myself, the process is kind of fun. You're a lot more proud of wine you made than wine you bought.

I think we've got as many wine recipes as we got chiggers round here.

The only tough part is letting it set for 1 to 1 1/2 years.

More than a few bottles have had a premature death.

Elderberry wine is an anti-viral, as is elderberry jelly, and raw elderberrys.

We feel a lot of colds "comin' on" from time to time.

Elderberry wine, mmmm. Many many years ago, I used to mow a lady's lawn for a quart of elderberry wine & $2.00 My dad sure would be mad when I gave him the jar and it was 1/2 empty from the walk home

I've never lived in Harrison, but I've been there several times. There are way too many rednecks up there. Not everybody is a redneck, true, but there's still too many for my liking. Harrison's claim to fame is to be the Ku Klux Klan capital of the world. I'm honestly not sure if the Ku Klux Klan still exists up there, but I have friends from there and even dated a guy from there. Racism is still very rampant, and so is ignorance.

It's also really small and there's virtually nothing to do for entertainment purposes. That probably explains why people usually start having kids up there very young. There's nothing else to do.
