I agree.
You probably can't go wrong with either but you really should visit both and make a decision from there. Will you be working in Bentonville since you are asking about the commute?

good idea. I think that is the only way to judge, especially if one doesn't live too far away. I don't think anyone can say which is better, but one thing we all know: both cities are within a few miles of each other.

If I were raising kids I still think I would concentrate more on Bentonville, I know our granddaughter who just graduated and got married a couple of weeks ago loves living in Fayetteville, but when they are ready to buy they will choose a more family oriented area, not a college town. She certainly knows about college and college towns..How she graduated with the grades she did is beyond all of us..

From the perspective of schools, I'd steer you more towards Bentonville. Fayetteville schools are top notch but, the high school situation there is not to my liking. So many parents in Fayetteville want to make sure their child attends Fayetteville HS that it is VERY unlikely the city will ever build a second high school. The one they have will just keep getting bigger and bigger. Recently, there was a plan to sell the current HS site to the University of Arkansas for an exhorbitant asking price so a new campus could be built. Instead of investing money to build a second high school, they were going to abandon the current site and move to a location where they could keep on expanding the single school idea.

grahamkadybug is on a distinguished road
Like you, my family is also moving to the area and I have been looking into the school districts and housing. I am currently working with a realtor there who has been great and I have done a lot of checking into the school districts as well. So far I am leaning towards the Bentonville school district because of some good things that I have heard about them. I went on a house hunting trip a few months ago and really liked Bentonville, Rogers, Avoca, and Pea Ridge. They all seemed family friendly and I have a teenage daughter so we had to check out the shopping in the area and it was also great. My only complaint about Bentonville was the traffic. As soon as I can get my current house sold my family will be making the move. Good luck with your move.
