With only so much time allotted for our exploratory visit to Arkansas this year, we've decided to browse the area from Hot Springs to Mena ... not necessarily limiting ourselves to a direct route between those towns.

Any recommendations for the best source of real estate information in/around Hot Springs would be appreciated. We plan to begin at Hot Springs, therefore our wish to find a friendly and informative source located there. The ideal situation would be for us to find a real estate agent there, fully informed about Hot Springs as well as the area heading west toward Mena.

Granted, this won't be an easy thing to do. We've lived here in our home area now for 30 years and feel comfortable knowing about the lay-of-the-land and lifestyles and accessibility features within a 50 mile radius or so ... but outside that area yearly changes with commerce and subdivisions and living costs are things which aren't so easy to track regularly.

Once you get to Mena area, go to HollySprings Realty and ask for Joe, a
very nice man and quite informative about the Mena Area. I am currently
working with him on relocating to Mena. Good Luck

Thanks for the tip and the name of the real estate agent. We will do exactly as you recommend and find Joe there at Mena.

Why the delay in moving in the home? Are you buying a home under construction?

We drove from Hot Springs to Mena a couple of weeks ago and found the trip relaxing and scenic. Aside from the road improvements and heavy equipment blocking the road, it would have been a non-stop ride. While in Mena, we rode around and checked out the sites and stopped for a meal at a local burger shop where some of the locals were playing Bingo for charity. Nice folks. One guy came our table and introduced himself and asked if he could be of service with directions - since he noticed our road map on the table. We had a nice long discussion about the area and the people and home prices in general.

You'll love it there.
