If you are not independently wealthy, life will be a struggle. I would suggest comparing utility bills to average income. We all like to be proud of where we live or come from but not to the point of being blind to the truth. The Murphy Oil Promise is an attempt to get more kids in the public school program, because for years the public school system has been mostly minorities.

I believe what started this thread is someone thinking of moving there with their company, instead of incouraging an outsider to come in residents need to demand new positions be filled with current residents.

I have no idea why this thread was brought back up to the top after a year-and-a-half. Normally, I would ignore it and let it swiftly drop back down the board. But I cannot and will not allow such drivel as the bolded statement above go unanswered, neither the off-target remark regarding the purpose of the Murphy Oil funded El Dorado Promise, nor the erroneous statement that the El Dorado public schools are "mostly minorities". Please get your facts straight.

do YOU have proof shes wrong ?

I was raised there, moved away 20 years ago, everytime I go back to eldodo I cant get away fast enough. There's not much good left there.

Is Bob Watson still part of the EISD ? I wonder if he still calls himself God in the mirror ?

the OP has much better credentials than you do...

If you would have read my response a little closer, you would note that I took issue with the particular statement that I bolded in her response, not her entire post. I could care less what her opinion (or yours, for that matter) of El Dorado is in general. They are your opinions, and you are definitely entitled to them. However, what she stated was the purpose of the El Dorado Promise is wrong. What she stated about the El Dorado School District being "mostly minorities" is wrong.

If you want "proof" she is wrong, feel free to research the issue. Unless you feel like taking the word of some generic poster on a website forum whose opinion matches your own qualifies as "proof".
