I moved to nw Arkansas from South Arkansas 10 years ago so I can relate to those. And it's like two different states with I-40 as the state line.

LOL!!!!!! I'm glad Arkansas was specified because for a minute I thought I was reading about my home in Oklahoma!!!!!! There's not much of a difference in eastern Oklahoma. This will definitely be passed around the office Monday. Loved it!

3. You use "fix" as a verb. Example: "I'm fixing to
go to the store "

<<>>

"Fix" is a verb.

Isn't it?

"Granny fixes supper while the young'uns cut wood."

"Fix this here suspender for me. I can't seem to hold it and fix it at the same time."

"Hold on, I'm fixin' to. Gimmie a minute. I gotta get these biscuits in the oven. Am I the only one who can fix anything around here?"

wow, "fixin" isn't just a verb in AR, both my granddaughters, who were raised in Texas and not in small towns but Dallas are always fixin to do somthing. Most of their friends are as well. This is more a southern term than one used in AR.
