Default Arkansas/Sausage?

I just moved to Arkansas and have one main gripe. For the life of me I cannot find any good sausage. I moved from Texas and we had Chappel Hill, Burtons, and Eckermanns sausage. All I am able to find is cereal laden something calling itself sausage. Any names anyone wants to state. I am around the Fort Smith area. Thanks. Would sure appreciate it.

Petit Jean makes some excellent ham and bacon. I've never noticed if they make any sausage but if they do, it should be first rate.

Is Razorback Hams still open in Fort Smith? I had a friend who used to live in F.S. and Razorback Hams had really good smoked meats, so I would think they make sausage as well. I like Johnsonville sausages from Wal-Mart for Brats and Ital. It's not fabulous like something I could get in NYC or Chicago, but I think it's tasty. Some things you won't find in Arkansas. My family orders our kielbasa from New England. In fact, I need to do that today or tomorrow so we can have it for the holidays.

Try Ozark Mountain Smokehouse just up the road in Fayetteville. Ozark Mountain Smokehouse - Our Products

You might also try Ozark Natural Foods. I have found imported cheeses there that I didn't think were available in the USA. They may have some sausages to your liking.

No need to drive there is also an Ozark Mountain Smokehouse in Fort Smith. It is on Phoenix right before you get to the Supercenter. It is behind the old Hollywood video sort of.

By the way fancygal which town did you choose?

Thumbs up can't Find any good Pure Pork Smoked Sausage

I'm orginally from Louisiana and now live, and LOVE NW arkansas. But, I was amazed when I moved here and could find no pure pork smoked link sausage adn not much of anything other than breakfast sausage. Finally found a store that carries Community coffee. Everytime we make a trip down to SW louisiana, we have to load up on coffee, sausage, and TexJoy seasonings. Its tough being a "dis-placed" cajun!! But, I really love the weather and peorple here, so I sure don't plan to leave. Guess I'll just keep having to "go across the border" to get a "fix"!!
