I am no pizza specialist or anything, but NYPD definitely has an individual taste you can't get anywhere else, maybe that is what some call a NY style(I personally have no clue what NY pizza is like). When I eat there myself as a customer, I find it to not be as good as when I make a pizza to take home after work(though of course I do try and make my pizza perfect ) One thing I do notice is that I wait longer to pull the pizzas, i let them get nice and crisp on the crust. I assure you though, I am not burning them.
I will say to anyone who maybe didn't like it the first time around to give us a second chance. We have a good kitchen staff finally and we are pumping out some top notch pizza in the past month.
Also, places I would suggest would be NYPD Pizza of course. US Pizza is amazing. I can't say it is better or wosre then NYPD because it is a different style, but it is brilliant pizza. Shotgun Dan's is really good, but I haven't been there in over two years. That is all I can think of at the moment. I will say that anyone who likes quality food should never step food into Larry's. That palce is basically just the new Cici's Pizza; cheap, greasey, and defintely not hot and fresh. I think it is probably the worst pizza ever, even if it is supposed to be on the cheap side.

Now there's a man that cares about his pizza.
If I were more mobil, I'd certainly have him whip one up for me.

I used to eat Larry's back in the day and I remember one time getting SO sick from all the pepperonis they put on it. I was just a little kid and didn't know any better but my stomach was killing me from all the grease.
About a year ago I visited Larry's (over there by Philander Smith) and it was okay. I'm not a big fan of specialty pizzas. They kept bringing out all these specialty pizzas that I didn't care for. I'm a meatlover's and/or pepperoni and sausage pizza.

I like US but my mom had a pretty bad experience when it comes to how they charge large parties.
I can't stand Cici's. I've only gone there because I didn't have much choice in the matter and was starving.
I had Shotgun's yesterday and boy was it good. I went to the one in Sherwood. It isn't as good as the one off Markham but I'm not about to just drive out to West Little Rock when there's a perfect good one not too far from me (10-15 minute drive...depending on how the lights want to act and if I'm not stuck behind some slow driver).

I love the MM! Every one of them that I've visited has been great, and I love the "funkiness" of the older ones.
I hope they have plans to expand into Central Arkansas. I know we need another pizza place like a hole in the head, but Mellow Mushroom is cool. That place would be a great fit in Stift Station.

I would say it would be a good fit in the river market, but we have so many pizza places down there anyways. Maybe Hillcrest?

Mellow Mushroom has made it to Fayetteville? My son will be in heaven next time we visit the family in Rogers -- that's his favorite place in the world to eat.
Mellow Mushroom, for those who haven't spent any time in the southeastern U.S., is a chain that started in Atlanta, near GA Tech, in the 1970s. By the time I moved to Atlanta in the mid 1980s, they were up to four or five locations. In the last decade or so, they've expanded pretty heavily in the southeast -- the Asheville and Chattanooga stores have been around for a while, and I noticed on one of our drives to visit Arkansas a couple of years ago that there's one just off the freeway in Anniston, AL.
Pretty good pie, in most cases, though like any chain quality control becomes an issue across dozens of locations. The oldest locations definitely had a funky student-oriented vibe to them back in the day (there was still a handrolled smoke of indeterminate composition in the raised hand -- the one that's now a peace sign -- of the mushroom guy on the signs when I got to Atlanta, though it disappeared soon after). The location closest to Emory back then was barely more than a cinderblock shack at the time, and while it's been expanded over the last couple of decades, the bones of the original building are still evident if you know what to look for.

Yup,The would be bumping heads with Iriana's first and foremost along with the other pizza places down there. I'm not sure if M.M. is better than Iriana's even though I like it a lot. Hillcrest would be a good fit also, but they have their share of pizza places too.

How much is a Godfather now? It was 25 bucks the last time my wife and I went there which was many years ago. It's good stuff though!
