I'd like to know as well. Also, why Hot Springs? I hope you don't equate old with "dump".

Little Rock, Hot Springs, Eureka Springs, Bentonville areas are all good, stay away from Harrison,Mt. Home, Jonesboro and more conservitive areas unless you are a bible beating person who wants to meet in a tent every month to roll in the sawdust speaking gibberish while holding copperheads and on the off weeks meet at the old cross burning with your new sheet coat with optional pointie hat and mask.

lmao, I don't know about the others but Jonesboro isn't quite that bad, you just have to find your niche. The majority of J-town is Baptist, they don't even speak in tongues. They are keeping Craighead a dry county, though, which is quite irritating. As far as the racism goes, it's definitely prevelent, but it's generally in the form of snide comments rather than cross burning and lynching. It's not impossible to fit in in Jonesboro, if your not a white conservative bible thumper, but it does take some effort to find people who are a bit more open minded.

Uh...yeah....
You didn't have that in Michigan, and there won't be any in Kansas, right?

I would consider West Fork, just south of Fayetteville. Very close to the Devil's Den national park, close to the college town of Fayetteville. You would love it here in NW Arkansas. I've lived in and around Ft Smith and for a short time around Little Rock. We love it here more than anywhere else we have lived.
Good luck in your search!

Maybe you should look at Glenwood or Mt. Ida. very small towns, but within 30 min. of Hot Springs, less than an hour from Little Rock. Western Arkansas is full of "horse people" Here in Mena, we have several very large ranches raising Arabians. We also have a rodeo every year.
