Default Mom needs info on Central AR Schools please help

OKAY So I live in Bryant AR but not really happy with the scenery and limits on activities. We like visiting the zoo and museums and so the parks and so forth. Really looking to settle in the Maumelle area but after hearing all the rave about the bryant school district Im nervous about taking my child to a school district thats not up to par. I dont want to stay somewhere Im not 100 percent happy with but do not want to risk moving my child into a non safe school enviroment. Are there schools in Maumelle that are great schoools similar to the reviews heralded by the Bryant School District???? My son will start Kindergarten next fall. And Ive got to get the move on!! Thanks

Bryant schools are generally rated higher than Pulaski Co SD schools but Maumelle has good elementaries and a brand new state of the art middle school. The new high school will be built soon and there's lots of talk about Maumelle area schools being very good at that time. Are they bad with lots of crime issues right now? Not at all. I think it's just the old Oak Grove campus needs to be replaced and when it is you'll see a big bolstering of public schools in Maumelle.

Maumelle is a great, safe place to live.

The schools that kids in Maumelle attend are the pride of PCSSD with the exception of Oak Grove. Crystal Hill Magnet, despite the recent roofing issues looks great and I've heard really good things about it. I've also heard great things about the elementary in Maumelle itself (can't remember the name right offhand). Maumelle middle IS fantastic. It blew away my son's school in MD which was in one of the higher ranked districts in the state (in the top 100 in the country supposedly *laugh*). The district has requested permission from the city to break ground early on the new high school so they are really pushing for completion by the '10 school year.

To be perfectly honest, I've heard nothing about the Bryant school district that would compel me to put my child in those schools vs. PCSSD.
