I have to agree with all here. I get to go to my place about every 6 months now and I wish I could stay and not come back to this rat race. We bought a place in Van Buren County about 5 years ago and have never regretted it. We were on a drive last summer and happened upon Mountain View and I am still in awe over the beauty, the music, and the friendliness of everyone we came in contact with! But, you know what??? There were all kinds of musical instruments, but not one harmonica. Anyone know why? Anyhow, we are headed back to our place there next week and I can hardly wait to sit out on the porch and listen to the coyotes!

and still enjoy the beauty and peasefullness of nature. We put ears of corn out for the birds and other creatures in the summer. They do eat them, it's fun to watch and sometimes we even have a deer wander in to take a bite or two. About a week ago, I suggested to Patrick we put some out now to see what would happen. Wow, in less than 3 days, 2 ears were completely stripped. Guess our forest friends are really hungry about now. We only see the squrrils and a few birds, but whatever is out there is happy with us.

I concur. Arkansas is beautiful, affordable, and a really great place to live.
As they say in the travel brochures, it's the Natural State!
And it's true...

I think if I were you I would sell my California furniture and fixtures, clothes and toys, buy myself a good pair of jeans and tennis shoes and get out of Dodge ASAP. You might find these items quiet unnecessary in your new location. After arriving at your new destination, hit some great garage sales, replace any foreign made yuk and enjoy life! Take the extra cash and start a new LIFE. It's amazing how less expensive to live in Arkansas rather than California.
Just a little Arkansas tidbit: Did you know that Elk was reintroduced to the mountains in Norther Arkansas? It's awsome to hear them "bugle call".

Lived in Several Other States

I moved from "home" (Mountain View) and thought I would be "better off" to move to the big city of Oklahoma City. Wrong! Of course, life took it's turns and changes and I only got to go home to visit. I always left in tears, wanting to stay.
I moved back to Arkansas for a few years. Loved it! Then, as life goes, wound up back here in Oklahoma, (luckily NOT in the city!), where my children live now. I take my kids back home as often as I can. I love to show them around. They love it there, too.
Fortunately, I had the opportunity to travel to all but 5 of the states in our nation.
Living 9 years in the Pacific Northwest was a great experience, but Seattle is so damp and dreary, (but oh so beautiful in July and August). I did find a lack of "sense of community" there and missed home even more. Most people had never eaten fried okra! Some of the women truly thought we did not have shopping malls in this part of the country. I was amazed to find so many of the people I worked with in Seattle had never traveled past California, Oregon or Idaho.
My family once owned the hill where the Ozark Culture Center is located. Of course it was just a wooded, briar-infested hill for us to run goats on at that time. I have fond memories of climbing to the top to peek out to see the "great world beyond" when I was young lady. Our home was located where the current airport is now in Mountain View. It was my family who led to the development of the airport and other areas nearby.
We were aware of the caves at Blanchard Springs when we were kids. That was many years before the Government found it. My brothers have scary discovery trek stories to tell about letting each other down the main hole in the side of the cave, on ropes. Of course they never reached the bottom. Thank God they got pulled out safely. Seems it's about 100 feet or so to the bottom at that entrance!
There's another similar cave in the area, near the town of Fifty-Six. It's called the Roland Cave. They think it might possible connect to the Blanchard Cave somewhere. Next time, you might ask the locals about that cave. As kids, we were going to build a cool skating rink in that cave.
There's lots to see in Northern Arkansas. Ever been to "Rush", Arkansas?
By the way, Lousiana food is really good, too!

It was just terrible to see the Sooners loose this past championship! But, we still love them! They tried so hard to win. Certainly kept the spirit!

I think you can go to the draft folder and recover it. It should be a couple folders below your inbox folder. This may be all wrong but I think it will work.
