I've been hearing the tree branches cracking and breaking off outside, it's kind of creepy. There is huge tree right next to my house, I'm just praying it doesn't fall on my house.

We are having some icy problems here also, in Oklahoma. Eufaula and that area is getting hit pretty awful with ice. I heard Northern Arkansas is without electricity, with over an inch of ice in the Mountain Home area. Mountain View's electric is pretty much off also. They indicated it would only get worse overnight. Trees are breaking and falling down, blocking roads, etc.

My brother said his propane ran generator stopped working due to the cold weather. I had just talked with my sister and she said her daughter in Siloam Springs had a propane ran generator that did the same thing. I'd like some input about this if anyone can tell me. I have a new generator and was thinking of converting it to propane, but now I don't know if I should do so.

Good luck to all there in the ice storm. Lots of us here are really worried about you! We only have about 2 inches of sleet on the ground, which is not anywhere as bad as the freezing rain.

Typically spring-like. However, NWA can get some snowstorms in March. In fact, one of the biggest and fastest snowstorms I can recall from my youth was on St. Patrick's Day! School let out about noon and we got probably close to 12 inches of heavy, wet snow that was all gone by the next morning!

I wouldn't worry over much. Those early spring snow storms aren't common and when they do happen, like I said, it's usually all gone in a few hours anyway. I'd pack a decent jacket, jeans, a few long sleeves. If you're there for any extended length, you'll have plenty of days where shorts and tshirt are ok and then a few where you'll need a bit more.

Yeah......

Pour me one, too...

Here....use this bucket....

Heh..I'm just a hillbilly with big ol' marine batteries, invertors, a generator, and a couple of laptops on cellular broadband.

Sitrep here, as with a lot of ya'll, is bad.

Power's out and they say it may be *weeks* before it's restored.

Hardwire phone lines are out.

Cellular is in/out. I wait for the light on the modem to light up before hitting "send". Modems on a big antenna, cell phones are d-e-d, ded.

Worked a chainsaw with neighbors yesterday afternoon so we can at least get to each others houses, then we all came back to my place to deplete the tequila stock.

Supposed to thaw tomorrow afternoon, so *maybe* I can get out for gas/kerosene.

HEY....is this what they call "romantic"?

now I will have to wait until later today, even I can't start this early unless I am on vacation.

Hope you get power sooner rather than later, we didn't lose ours, Thank God. Of course Patrick was prepared. He had 5 candles on the bathroom counter top and 12 packages of book matches. What the heck he needed that many for who knows??? The only thing really affecting us, no newspaper today..

Well, I will be stuck working on Friday thanks to the weather! I hate snow and ice. We could've worked today, but I guess the boss was looking out for those who have to travel.

It's for sure cold even though we didn't have any ice here!
