That ice storm was really bad! Wow! It didn't really hit me until today as to how bad it really is up there.
A coworker of my wife is the aunt of the girl who got killed on 167 in Sheridan. Very bad deal.

Does anyone have an updated report on electricity return in Jackson, Independence, Lawrence county areas ? Nothing much on the news.
We had to evacuate to Little Rock and have had enough of this motel life. B

Not all of Ash Flat is up, but they sure nuff got Wal Mart and the Mexican restaurant going, so....what more is there?
Friday a neighbor came over with a new propane wall heater for me and installed it....heat!!
Then he said, "I'll be back tomorrow and wire the generator in for whole house".
9:00 A.M., I saw the greatest thing I ever saw. A truck rolled in, and out gets a hillbilly with a beer in one hand, and a toolbox in the other, and a truck bed full of wiring and electrical stuff.
2:00 P.M. and 6 beers later, I had the prettiest wiring job I've ever seen, and.......running....*hot* water.
Let me tell ya....I'm in high cotton!
Electricity? We ain't gonna see that out here for a loooong time. Driving south, where the lines run, ya gotta 4 wheel around debris covering the road, and lines are down everywhere and poles snapped in half.
Repair crews couldn't get to us if they had to.
However, I'm warm, clean, and fed.......I've got a great wife, a good dog, and I'm walking upright.
It's a great day in the Ozarks!

RogMar,
As usual, your stories are great. You, my friend, also have the best attitude in all of Arkansas. I hope you get powered up soon enough. Take care.

attitude is 1/2 of the game of life and yours is great...We feel so lucky, not losing our power for 1 minute. In fact most of BV didn't. We still can't get up or down our drive way, frozen solid. Thank goodness we have a second car parked on our gravel drive under a car port. Our neighborhood grocery store was packed yesterday, I don't know if people really needed groceries or just wanted out of the house: for us, it was both.

Hello from Texas. I need some help in trying to get information about Flippin, Ar. I have a Brother & his family living by Marion County Regional Airport and we can not get in touch with them. If anyone has news of the weather now and the Ice Storm you got please let me know. I have read the today's post and sounds like little by little maybe everyone is getting help. I especially loved RogMar's story and loved it. Thank you for any help and stay warm, comfortable and Godspeed to all!

Marion County was not hit so bad, at least compared to NWA. The roads where cleaned a lot faster when I evacuated out there and hell Yellville was getting electricity before most of Fayetteville.
That being said Marion County is smack dab in the middle of absolute no where.
