My husband just went shopping, he says Walmart is crazy.
Fortunately we have a gas fire in the living room so even if the electricity goes, we should be ok. I am kind of looking forward to it... I am originally from Switzerland and have lived in Ireland so the concept of everything shutting down for a little ice storm/ a couple of inches of snow is strange to me.

I doubt we see much of anything in Mount Ida...thank goodness. I'd rather get loads of snow than to deal with the ice!

I just got back from a morning meeting followed by a trip to Wal-Mart in MO. I had to laugh when I saw what people were buying (including me) you could tell who still used charcoal grills, they had their basket filled with briquets: everyone must like chile because baskets were filled with stuff we would use to make chili and of course the deli was packed. Then, of course their were the tea toddlers versus the drinkers: Some baskets probably had 4 or 5 12 packs of soda, the rest had boxes of wine, bottles of Jim Beam and cases of beer. I won't tell you where I fell in there...

The weather is not bad here yet,but it's just flat-out cold. It's a cloudy day too which just makes it gloomier.

Oh yeah......

The booze closet has got to stay stocked.

I was a couple hundred feet, in a hidey hole with neighbors when the Feb 5th tornado went through.

To say we were having a hurricane party is an understatement.

As she came through, and we heard the groan, and felt the pressure change, it got real quiet....then when it faded, you'da thought the Hogs scored with the cheers.

Having been through ice storms, I ain't looking forward to this.

I doubt it will affect Central Arkansas much.
I just know it's cold and that does not make me a happy camper.

I am looking for a home with a hidey hole and not having much success. Seems in this area every house would have one. Strange really.
Too cold for me. I think I have pretty much worn long johns since Nov. and not very fashionable. Not sure what to expect with ice storm. I am used to hurricanes and such where one just leaves.

you can wear he long johns, I have a green fleece long shift like thing with a plaid turtle neck and long sleeves, I wear it almost everyday as long as I don't have to go anywhere..

cold it is, the rain has started here and Rogmar, what gave you the idea I was buying booze??? As a matter of fact it was just a little wine (a 5 liter box which should last a day or so)
