Are there any homeschoolers in the Lavaca, Charleston or Fort Smith area? If so, I would appreciate a response so I could possibly PM you concerning your experience in these areas. We are possibly looking at property in one of the three locales. Thanks in advance.

Yes! There is a group called FAITH (Family Association for Instruction and Teaching at Home) which has been around since the late 80's! Their website is www.faithhomeschool.org

That's neat! I wish I had a support group like that near me. But, we did it on our own....have one done and about to start college (all paid for with academic scholarships and a Pell grant), and another one in the 10th grade.

Hello igloo,
I don't know about any groups, but you can find great deals on homeschool books on Amazon and Ebay. I'm sure if you register with a school they'll have certain groups you and your children can join, just google homeschool in AR or something.

I can't get on these forums very often, if anybody can comment on the "School of Tomorrow" curriculum I would love to hear from you at shawneereese@cox.net. It is what my boys use at their private school and I'm considering it for home school now that we have to move away. Thank you so much.
