Bearden or kingsland are nice places to live. Bearden is a little bit bigger however and the people there are real friendly, plus your only 10 minutes from fordyce and around 40 minutes to el dorado. Although if you have kids they would go to the bearden school instead of fordyce, so im not sure what your needs really are. But I would go with the surrounding towns if it were me.

Just curious but I have to be nosy and ask what in the world is bringing you to Fordyce? I am from El Dorado, about an hour's drive south, and I pass through Fordyce quite often when I am going to visit my dad and honestly, there is not much there. It is the home of Bear Bryant but other than that, not much. Other towns (not cities) nearby are Thornton, Bearden, Kingsland (home of Johnny Cash), and Rison. They are all about the same size so it probably would not make much differrence where you lived.

The area is somewhat hilly and wooded with lots of pine. Malvern would be a good place but it is 50 miles away, maybe too far for you.

Good luck on your move.
