moving to russellville area with pets
I will be moving to russellville ar area within the next 2 months I may need to put some cats and dogs in a kennel for a short time I was wondering where there are some and who is most recommended. Also need to know general rules and opinions about pitbull dogs in your area. I have one that is not nor ever been used in fighting and I am very responsible with him. Thus far he is a good natured dog. I would appreciate any input.

Highly unfortunate for you, but our local expert on both Russellville and matters relating to dogs and pitbulls specifically has not been around in a while. I wish I could help.

I did manage to find some info on internet. I guess pitbulls are banned in city but we would prefer to move out a ways, its just what we like, but I can't find out how many pets you can own out in country. My bad I get so attached and have a hard time parting with pets.

Well...I very seriously doubt there are many regulations in Pope Co. on that. After all, a good number of people outside of the city limits are farmers with lots of animals. Just so long as you can provide good shelter and all the necessities, you could probably have 100 dogs. Well...maybe not a 100 literally but you get the drift, so long as the neighbors ain't complaining, all's good!

If you look at Mapquest there are several smaller towns within 10 miles of Russellville and if you live outside the city limits of any of these towns (including Russellville) you should have no troubles letting you pit bull run loose.
I live about 4 miles outside Dardanelle (only the river separates Russellville and Dardanelle) and my neighbor has a pit bull he lets run loose. True enough some people are scared of pits but i don't mind them as a breed. There can be bad tempered dogs of any breed, that shouldn't be allowed to run free.
My neighbor has 2 dogs and the other is an incredibly large black collie looking dog that is more aggressive than the pit. The dogs have a few run-ins with my dogs and others, but no harm done. It's just a territorial thing, when one gets in the wrong yard
I live 4 miles from the Dardanelle Walmart and can be anywhere in Russellville in 20 minutes and i drive slow. It's about 9 or 10 miles to downtown Russellville from here. The best place for you to live will depend on where you work or go most often.
Hope it helps,
RSVL
