There aren't any good eggs sold in stores anywhere in the U.S. We used to raise chickens also. Nothing in the world can beat a free range chicken and/or their eggs.

and you can really notice the difference after you have raised the chickens and eaten the fresh eggs. yes, we also had chickens many years ago..
One thing that I can't get over and this isn't just AR, it was true in NM as well as in Texas: I don't know what they are feeding the gals or how they are packaging eggs, but they seem to all have a liquid around the yolk that is almost impossible to get cooked..we love poached eggs, but to get them to set we almost have to cook them hard...yuk!!!!

We used to have anywhere from 10-50 chickens at a time when we had our place in Heber Springs, and store bought eggs definetly can't hold a candle to free range eggs. During a period we had no chickens and had a "chicken lady" that we bought a couple dozen a week from. Now that we are in Conway, I would love to find a "chicken lady" to get eggs from.

Mother Earth News is always running articles about how eggs from free range chickens are more nutritious than the others. People are actually doing scientific research on it. I'd love to have some chickens.

Read something a few days ago about how NYC is rethinking codes that prevent people from owning chickens in the city. So now, owning chickens is hip. I never knew just how much of a hipster I was growing up!

Yep....a lot of cities have already changed their ordinances to allow backyard chickens (no roosters). But my small town hasn't!
