Is interracial a problem in Arkansas???
Hi, I have some family moving to Arkansas and they asked me if I was interested in coming along. I am from California and am thinking about it and kind of unsure, but I have a problem. I am a white man and in love with a Samoan girl who was born in Hawaii. And for all that don't know the Island of Samoa is part of the U.S. I am just wondering how other's would react to us being together down there. We are both into church and Christains, I'm just not to sure about there initial reaction to her or even me, who knows haha :P.

You'll be fine.
As long as you're not gay or an atheist, people will generally welcome you.

Yeah, the black & white thing would be more worrisome, especially in smaller towns. I know a biracial kid who has an extremely difficult time in school because of it. The classmates are relentless, even though they've known this person since kindergarten.

I have some good friends, of which the husband is white and the wife is native Hawaiian (Tahitian heritage I believe). They live in Northeast Arkansas. From what I can tell, they have only had positive experiences.
Good luck considering your move!

It probably depends on where in AR you plan on settling, but I don't see there will be a huge problem..The smaller communities, like everywhere are probably a little more closed and narrow minded. If you settle in one of the larger cities (not that any of our cities are large compared to Ca) NWA though politically conservatinve is also diverse. Come, enjoy our wonderful state and don't worry.. Here in NWA we see blacks, whites, children of mixed heritage, hispanics, asians: almost everything..

That's what I was thinking. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Well there are more walmart churches here than I can count. The state banned singles from adopting children because gays adopting children was part of the "gay agenda," which is also reflective of the bible governing state laws, essentially tyranny of the majority. More bigotry can be seen in the election results, Arkansas was one of only a handful of states to actually go more democratic even though if Hillary ran, the state would have gave her the electoral votes.
It is a very bigoted state.

"Tyranny of the majority"??? Why bother holding elections then, if the outcome is going to be labelled "tyranny of the majority"?
