Default Anyone Live in Warren?

We are looking at a piece of land in warren and would like information on the town, schools, and the community. Websites can only give me so much and would like infomation from someone that actually lives there. Any information would be greatly appriciated.

I can't give you information other than I've been there several times. My husband spent a great deal of time there many years ago. His mother grew up in Warren, Ark. It was a surprise to see the name mention. I remember it being a small town about a few hours south of Pine Bluff (shich I didn't like). What was funny when I visit there was at 4p.m. the woman call it tea time. Well, I though real tea. Tea Time in Warren was hard stuff. I guess because it is a dry town.

My brother and sister in law lived there. They moved though because she did not like the school. She said at one time they were bad with drugs in the schools! Also Bradley County was #1 in AIDS. This is what I heard from them. She said also that there are no jobs and the town is dying. You have to drive 18 miles to the nearest wal mart. But once again this is from say so. They moved out last October.

there is no jobs there its a timber area there is a timber mill and a lot of small
logging company, if you have a cdl you drive a log or gravel truck. monticello is 8 miles away pine bluff is about a hour.

First of all I said this was say so! Plus not everyone wants to work in the timber industry!! I know lots of people drive to Fordyce to work at mill creek ! I know they have Pizza Hut and McDonalds but what else is there to do maybe work at the corrections facility there?

Default Thanks

Thanks for the info. My husband is going to try to fulfill his childhood dream of owning his own farm, and I am getting in my car and driving to work!!! I have a business degree so my options are endless and I don't mind commuting for I live in New York and am use to it. Sick of all the BS in NY, and looking forward to standing on my front porch and not seeing my neighbor's next door!! Love Arkansas and counting down the days until I am out of here!!!!

Default staciberry

My husband grew up in a little town just outside of Syracuse, NY. If you blink while driving through, you'll miss it!! He wants that small town feel again for he is a farm boy all the way!! Im a city girl grown up in Syracuse, NY and was a little nervous about the move. Everyone was so nice to us when we visited AR. It was so funny because everywhere we went they refered to us as the characters on "Green Acres". I know it will be a culture shock for me but I can adapt. We want to teach our children that there's more to life then how much your house is worth, what type of car you drive, and where you buy your clothes. Hot Springs is great for me, but I don't think my husband will agree. To many people!!

I have never been to Warren but my cousin Jane Harris lives there. If anybody knows her, tell her the Cape Cod branch of the family says hi!

One thing you will definitely have to be on the lookout for if you do commute ... deer. They luuuuuuuuuuv standing by the side of the road munching on grass in groups of 3 or more. The problem is, they tend to cross the road at inopportune times, like, say, when you are about to drive by around 60 MPH.
