Bella Vista 2nd Home House Sitters?
We are considering purchasing a second home in Bella Vista which will eventually become our retirement home in several years. We don't want to rent it during this time as we would like to slowly transition our household goods. We would like to pay someone to check on our property at least twice a month to ensure that utilities are working properly, the lawn is being mowed, no water leaks, etc. Does anyone have any suggestions about how we can locate such as individual?

Two suggestions. First, contact the POA about your concerns. They might be able to recommend someone. Or, contact some of the local realties. Many of them are involved in property management, and for a small fee might be happy to take on the tasks you require.

My Sister and Brother -in-law retired to Bella Vista and might consider doing this for you. Have you found anyone? If not, give me some info and I will call and ask her if they might be interested.

When I purchased in Horseshoe Bend, I found out that the realtor offered that service as well as was willing to recommend people for specific tasks, like lawn care. As it is, following her recommendation, I'm just paying for lawn maintenance. My agreement with him is to perform on an as needed basis at his discretion. That seems to be working well for us. His prices are reasonable and he does a good job.
I think that most people you meet through referrals like that will be trustworthy in these small towns. After all, their business is built around their good reputation.
