And has anything like that happened since?

I am planning a move to HSV in the fall of 2015. After 30 years of wintering off and on, on the MS Coast, I want to try something new. Will still keep the condo in Biloxi, but want to make my permanent home in HSV. I am coming from Milwaukee and have just a few questions for anyone kind enough to respond.
My lifetime career has pretty much been spent in Real Estate, new construction homes and property management. I still have a good 20 years to work, so my question is, are there many jobs in Hot Springs for someone looking to sell NEW homes or condos? Or managing large apartment communities/or condo communities? Are there any major employers there that need people with a degree in Business and many years of sales and marketing experience?
Do people commute to Little Rock from HSV for work...or is it too far? Finally, are the winters really cold? I am looking forward to a distinct 4 season climate...but only mild changes, whereas Biloxi stays fairly the same year round; but can get cold too.
I know I can find the answers to all of these questions elsewhere, and we do have friends on Lake Coronado...but I thought it would be nice to hear it directly from the horses mouth so to speak...people to whom I have no association with...yet.
I must say though, after seeing ever state, except AK, and being a lifetime fan of MS and there coast, HSV had to be pretty spectacular to sway me over...and it has...big time...and Hot Springs as well...cant wait to get there and get involved with the communities...I hope they like Yankee's!

Had a funny experience last Thursday nite at HSV. It was my first time there, and the lady I dated had to call the guard shack to get me a visitor place.

I left her place around midnight and was shocked to find the guard shack was closed and the gates locked. I had no way to get out! Do they really lock people in at night? lol Thankfully, a police officer happened by and was able to let me out. Weird feeling being trapped inside like that.

You must have been trying to exit at the east gate at highway 5. It is only manned from 6am to midnight, then it becomes a card gate only. Your friend could have followed you there to let you out if her POA card was activated as a gate card, otherwise you would have to drive to the west gate at highway 7 as it is manned 24/7 and has no gates.
