D.C. is giving you good advise. There are a lot of small towns here in NWA that would probably work for you. Siloim Springs isn't quite as quaint as some of the towns, but I am not familiar with the residentual areas as much. You may want to look into Gentry as well.
You asked about cookesville, Tn, I haven't been through there in years, but it is another possibility.

She started out in a bad mood before I even said anything to her. Long story short a few calls to the right people and her otherwise gloomy disposition changed abruptly and I had a free room.
If you get a customer service person with a bad disposition...complain. 9 out of 10 times the business will care about their customers and work to fix the problem, which will usually get you some type of discount.
Don't think I am one of those people who goes around complaining. That was the only customer service person that I have complained about since being in Fort Smith. Maybe that particular person was poorly matched for her job. Not everyone should be in customer service.
On the other side of the coin, customer service people have to put up with a lot of crap from people. Be nice and respectful and 99% of the time they will be the same...if that does not work then complain.

Today's experience in Arkansas. To get to my job site I had to go through a family's yard in Little Rock. Not only was permission granted in a friendly manner, but the man of the house stood outside and BSd with me until my boss arrived. Later a neighbor came out to see if we were O.K. and needed any thing. On the way to to the second job site we stopped in Benton for a late lunch. Everyone there, staff and customers, was super friendly. For a moment I had a flash-back to my Granny's kitchen. Txdave, this was in Benton's Ed & Kay restaurant. Have you tried them? If you do, and find unfriendly people, you DO have a problem.

Naw, I've been leary about eating out after having the most awful meal of my life at Catfish barn. Guess I got spoiled by all the good restaurants and eating in Texas. Not even a freaking Whataburger here.

Whataburger has the slowest service of any fast food place I've ever seen.

My daughter has Stage IV Lymphoma which is not a very treatable from what others have said. It runs its course in about 3 years. Her three will be near Thanksgiving. The next grand baby is due in October. She wants to hang around until then.
Siloam Springs is an awfully nice community. I think it is not too far from the Arkansas Cancer ??. but I have forgotten exactly where it is located.
The libray at the U of A in Fayetteville is awesome.
I didn't watch the film as I prefer to remember when I watched Farah in Charlie's Angels. Her hair was her trademark. Every time I saw it I though of a lions mane.

Txdave --
Whataburger has great onion rings. I wish we had a Whataburger around here. And a Jack in the Box, too. They have really good egg rolls.

I lived in Danville, Arkansas for about a year in the early 80s and the people were nothing but friendly to me. I was an outsider from the beginning, but nobody treated me any differently. And Danville is in the boonies folks. Beautiful area, and nice folks.

You can't beat 2 Jack in the Box tacos for 99 cents. A Taco Cabana would also be nice.

Someone please recommend dave a good burger joint in LR. Does the Purple Cow still make a good burger? Whataburger and Backyard are decent but far from great. I do wish we had Jack n the box, In and Out, or Five Guys.
