Obviously nothing. Don't forget that we have a "collective racial bias on this forum and in this state". The irony of the generalization is noted.

The use of racial and ethnic stereotypes in group settings, often and without challenge, is indicative of what's acceptable to the majority of the group's members. That's hardly an ironic statement. It's a conclusion based on observation of current behavior.

Give me a break, I do not think most who post here are racist. In the state, I don't know nor do you, I don't think any of us have lived all over the state. There will always be prejudice, each of us have them, whether it is racial, or maybe against fat people, of against those who paint their toe nails orange but to say we are a state of racists is totally off the wall.
As for generalizing, yep, another thing most of us do,but to be politically correct is getting a little tiring as well.

That is NOT what I said but if that's what you choose to believe, so be it. I don't recall saying a darn thing about anyone being racist. I said biased, yes, and I didn't limit that conclusion to any particular racial or ethnic group. Stereotyping is done by all to all.
It seems to me that you'd rather complain about this perception rather than hgo back and read all the crappy comments about others contained in this thread and admit that they're foul. That says more to objective bystanders considering this state than anything I have or ever will say to anyone. You call it political correctness, I call it conscience. We all need some.
At the moment, I live here, ok? I've lived here before and I live here now. I've said before and I say again that the last thing I want is for my children to be exposed to individuals, like those here, who feel no hesitation about or shame in stereotyping others based on their race or ethnicity. I also distinctly recall being told that those who choose to leave the state and not stay right here to fight for a better Arkansas are somehow cowardly. Well, I'm here now. And as long as I am I'm going to encourage people to do and be better about their biases. You don't like it? Move. I'm not (at least for the next three years).

Sneezy if you want to jump on someone, why don't you jump on the BLACK woman who brought the term to the thread? NO ONE defended the use of the term. They just said they thought it was ridiculous that you claimed not to know what that meant. And so did I.
As for your being offended quite frankly, I couldn't care less.
Also, Miss Two Degrees, you really need to work on your reading comprehension skills. I never attacked the type of music you listen to or labeled you based on it. I have no idea what type of music you listen to and AGAIN, quite frankly, I don't care.
The tired, trifling ghetto Black people I was refering to DO listen almost EXCLUSIVELY to hip-hop. And they emulate what they think is the artist lifestyle, thus the term "ghetto fabulous".
Instead of jumping on your soap box to defend something, why don't you make sure there's soemthing to defend? You really sound ridiculous. You got all hot and bothered about my post and then turned around and agreed with what I said. How about thinking before you type?

I don't recall agreeing with a single thing that you said. In fact, I didn't comment on you at all because as DC managed to recognize, my objection didn't have anything to do with you personally...Ms. Narcissism. It had to do with the rampant stereotyping folks were delighting in all through this thread. If that doesn't bother you, great. It bothers me. And while I appreciate you trying to separate yourself from those trifling others, I hope you recognize that the separation you manage to create in your own head is not at all that visible to the outside world. And so long as you, and anyone else, continues to allow others to be stereotyped in your presence, so to will it happen to you.
