I'm interested in trout, and I've heard there is walleye, crappie, and small mouth bass too in the Spring River.
Here's a few questions:
1) Good areas to go on the river or lakes.
2) how is the fishing during this time of year?
3) what lb test is recommended for the river, 6 or 8?
4) what lures, bait seem to work well for either trout, walleye or bass, crappie, etc?
Add in any other pointers you think might be helpful. Thanks, and I certainly appreciate your help!

Around Mammoth there are numerous places to access the river. There's always people with waders on out there working.
Fishing is generally good, using common sense about our weather. Get's hot (*stays hot*), deeper waters.
As far as your line weight, personal preference I guess. I use a 10 lb because I always have a line baited for catfish.
You'll have to find somebody with a fancy fishing reel/rod combo to ask about lures. My *old* Zebco 202's do pretty good with canned corn for trout and brim, and chicken livers for catfish. I'm a simple kinda fisher.
Hardy also has outfitters and access points. I'm sure that you can pick up more opinions than you want in one of those outfitters.
