Default local calls from mountain view arkansas?

Does anyone know what cities are local to call from Mountain View, Arkansas or how to find out what cities are not long distance?

If you don't have a package, it's the cities that are in the county.

That's Baxter county.

Get a map, or google one. and there's your calling radius.

Rogmar, are you talking from experience?

Here in Benton County, you have to think about more than packages. You have to consider phone companies. Rogers to Garfield is long distance. And in Gateway, some of the folks on the lake still have party lines, and have to make all their calls through a Missouri operator. Now cell phones make all the difference. But I've even known people that at one end of the road in Bentonville without a package would be calling long-distance to their in-laws a mile down that same road.

Apparently there are exceptions, DC. I am not aware of the conditions you cite. I know people in Sharp/Fulton/Baxter/Independence/Stone counties, and of course, Izard, where I live, and that's the basic package. In-county it's included, out of county it's long distance.

Party lines????

Did ya ever wonder how they came up with that name?

Mountain View is in STONE County. Mountain Home is in BAXTER County.

The Mtn. View Telephone Co. provides exclusive phone service for all residents of Stone County, including Mtn. View. You may call any exchange (other town) within the county from the Mtn. View exchange (269) w/o charge. You can also call between the exchanges w/o charge for the most part.

You are absolutely right, and thank you for correcting that. A case of what the eye sees and the mind interprets being two different things.
