Default What happened to Morrilton? (crime rate)

I was looking at the stats for Morrilton, AR and noticed something very odd. The crime rate was fairly low and them jumped up above the national average the last two times. What has happened there?

Here are the last five recorded on the site:
2001: 168
2002: 199
2003: 161
2006: 518
2007: 515

dsevans is on a distinguished road
same reason any crime rate jumps, drugs, they are popular and profitable, it's illegal to sell,/make them so those people are getting busted and raising the crime rate and then the people who do whatever they have to to get the money to support their drug habit, which also raises the crime rate.

Coincides with hurricane Katrina. I think a lot of crime rates in the south went up after people fled New Orleans.

Typically, when you see a spike like that one, it's due to a change in crime reporting methodology.
