Oh wow, I didn't even realize the guy had showed back up until now.
Well if the OP does show back up there are some new developments in Barling just East of Fort Smith. Barling has it's own elementary school but from junior high on they are bused into Fort Smith to go to school. There has been talk of building a high school in Barling for some time but I don't know if it will ever happen. Someone was going to build a Christian school in Barling but the school somehow got turned into new houses.
Barling was supposed to get the old Fort Chaffee land but Fort Smith stole 90% of it away from them, but thats another story. There is a lot of new devolpment going into the old Fort Chaffee. I kind of miss Fort Chaffee being abandoned though you can't get away with all the stuff that used to go on out there when I was younger anymore . Oh well, Fort Smith needs the new jobs.
Greenwood is nice too, fairly quite and experiencing decent growth.

Watch out for real estate sale loop holes
I purchased in 06 and got taken by the realtor and seller. They did not disclose everything regarding the property. I sued and lost, I appealed and lost. So, it's not only the real estate sales people and the sellers the courts for some reason favor the sellers. Get them to sign a agreement that will null your purchase if something was not disclosed prior to the sale. I could find a whole lot better places to live than this backwards state. I learned at great expience that this place is about 20 years behind. I guess that's great if that's were you want to be. Unfortunatly, I found out to late. I am trying to make the best of the situation.

I also want a place in a suburb with no more than a 25 minute drive to the city if for some reason have to go there. I am looking around Little rock, I have also been looking on the internet around Fort Smith. Again not looking to move to the city of fort smith or little rock, but in a nice quiet suburb with no more than a 25 minute drive to which ever city i choose. If anyone lives in a suburb about 25 minutes or closer of either little rock or fort smith and can tell me some neighborhoods to check out. I would greatly appreciate it. I am not looking to spend no more than $200,00.00. Thanks.

Dennis, that is totally unfair to say AR is 25 years behind times. I do not have a clue to what was not disclosed as you didn't explain a thing, just an allegation. Did you get a home inspection, what was the problem? In most states now, the seller signs an agreement, they are disclosing everything they know about the property. There can always be something not known. We sold our house in Texas 8 years ago, we signed a paper disclosing what we knew, we had a home inspection and still a faulty heathing system did not show. The buyers had to replace the furnace after they moved in. We were not held liable as we didn't know there was a problem. sometime times problems exist that no one knows about.
If you want to explain what happened you may get some sympathy, otherwise I think you are just upset because you feel you were misled. This is not just AR but many places. We sold our home in NM a year ago, again, signed a paper stating we didn't know of any problems. Luckily none has surfaced as far as we know.

Not looking for sympathy, just giving a warning
You are correct, Arkansas is not like most states. There was a disclosure statement which did not disclose the problem. The seller was fully aware of the problem but, elected not to disclose it and by the way was proven in court he knew of the problem. You can google me a read all about it.
I wish I would have had someone alert me before I bought. Don't rely on real estate brokers, or their agents, the real estate board, the real esate commision or the home owner/seller or even the courts to help you. I tried them all. Make a contract up front regarding the diclosure that will protect you. If they do not want to sign it, run away.
I plan on going to the Arkansas legislation to make some kind of buyer protection policy like is in MOST OTHER STATES. You may even read about it some day.
