Question about taxes... Airplane Owners?
Ok, so I am relocating to LR soon, and have read of personal property taxes on cars... Which Im not 100% up on... still need to read more. My question is, do any of you own an airplane? I have one and plan on bringing it with me... are they going to tax me on that too?

You will be taxed on any of what they consider to be "personal property". This will be things such as cars, motorcycles, travel trailers, cargo trailers, boats, airplanes, etc... It really isn't as bad as it sounds... We have two late model vehicles, an old chevy truck, two cargo type trailers, and motorcycle, and our personal property taxes are under $300 a year.

Is there any way to find out a ballpark of what to expect before we move there and start registering all of our personal property? Seems it may be beneficial to just keep the plane registered in Texas if they are going to get carried away with taxes...

Every county's tax is different. I would suggest that you check with the county assessors office in which you are moving and see if they can give you a ballpark figure.
