Halloween ideas for kids around Rogers- ES area???
We will be there for Halloween on our vacation. We will have 4 children with us (ages 7,6 and a pair of 3yo's)... We are looking for ideas of what to do on Halloween for them. Any parades, parties, festivals, events, ideas??? Where to Trick or Treat at?? We will be staying by the Lost Bridge area on the west side of Beaver Lake.. So anywhere between Rogers-Garfield or E.S. would be good for us...
Tell me about Halloween in your area....
THANKS!!!

Most area churches have some type of Fall Festival on Halloween. They usually have lots of games and sweets, and are considered a safe alternative to trick-or-treating.

On the way to Eureka Springs, the Haunted Hayride is a must-do.
Also, Washburn in Missouri has a Haunted Maze put on by the high school that is very good.
Downtown Rogers shuts down the streets for the Goblin Parade which is really glorified trick-or-treating with the merchants, but they do it at about six o-clock while it's still light out, and the kids don't have to worry about cars.
I don't know if they will this year, but last year one of the farms in Pea Ridge had let people pick their own pumpkins from a pumpkin patch, and they had it very well decorated.
In the past the Bentonville Square has done something similar to downtown Rogers' trick or treating.
The malls often have costume contests and jack-o-lantern competitions as well as merchant trick-or-treating.

This is the kinds of stuff we were think.. Thanks!
Does anyone know where or the name of the haunted hayride by ES? Or any other pumpkin patches with activities around there??
Our kids REALLY want to Trick or Treat (like we do here) so the parade might be a great idea... Also I saw that its on the 30th and not the actually date of Halloween, Is that normal? Do you still Trick or Treat on Halloween too then? We were hoping to do something on the actual day since its on saturday this year.
Thanks for the posts so far.. Anyone have any more ideas???...

Another popular activity was mentioned in a way, but not quite the same. Here in BV, also in Bentonville and Rogers the churches do what the call Trunk and Treat. The church parking lot will have people from the church giving out candy to the kids. This is much better than the door to door trick or treating as in years past.

There's another Haunted House on Highway 12 headed out to the lake. It's just before you get to the Highway 12 bridge. I think they're calling it the Haunted Asylum. McGarrah's in Pea Ridge is selling pumpkins from their pumpkin patch. (And there's a farm on Old Wire Rd selling raspberries, but we're getting a cold spell right now, and they might not make it 'til the end of October.)

This has been advertising heavily on local TV channels.
Right Choices Corn Maze
There is a religious overtone, but I don't think kids are overly concerned with that when they are picking out pumpkins or trying to find their way through a maze.
