HA! I wasn't referring to the food, I was referring to the glue that I got taken away from me because I thought it was tasty.

LOL! Well after sorting through some of the humorous posts, thanks for those of you who offered up some ideas. I think they are going to stay a week in Eureka Springs, which, I have never been to before, so hopefully that will keep them entertained. They are very outdoorsy people so maybe they can find a cabin up there to rent!
Anyhow, thanks again for the suggestions!

Hi, I don't know where you live in AR, but remember Eureka Springs is pretty well empty in December, course that could be fun. I say this only cause my daughter, granddaughters and I do a girls 3 day weekend every Jan. We did the Springs 3 years ago..Again, I don't know how far it would be for them to do Hot Springs but I think there is more going on there. Of course I will know more after Jan cause that is where we are doing our 3 days this year. I guess Jan won't help you much huh?

I am in Bentonville. So Eureka is pretty isolated in December? How far is Hot Springs and what is there to do there? Also what about where to stay? Is there a Bed and Breakfast you would recommend?
Thanks!

Well they may not want a 3 plus hour drive which is what it would be from Bentonville.

For the most part, because the weather isn't quite as cold most of Hot Springs stays active. The antique shops are awesome, lots of spas, and of course the baths just to mention a few things. We have only been there once, so I am just going on what we saw, but we loved it..There is also a winery pretty close.

As for places to stay, just check tourism for Hot Springs on the web, it will give you all kinds of suggestions. We use my daughters time share so I can't help you much.

Nita

Branson is seasonal too, but they might be able to find some off-season shows to see there. Also, the Port of Lights (or something like that) is nice to see in Branson.

If it is before Christmas I think there are still a few things open and of course, there are the outlet malls as well. I thought about Branson. It isn't as far at Hot Springs...

You might want to wander over the border to some of the casinos, if that's their cup of tea. Also, have you checked the Walton Arts Center schedule. There are usually several good shows in December. You would definitely want to check out the Fayetteville square Christmas lights in December. I think on weekends they offer sleigh rides around the square. Eureka Springs isn't completely shut down in December. There are still shops and restaurants open, and it isn't as crowded as it is in summer. If you're willing to drive to Hot Springs, you're willing to drive to Little Rock as there as little difference in travel time. The River Market is very nice. The Clinton Museum is worth an afternoon. The Old Mill is a lovely park to visit in the wintertime. Speaking of mills, you might want to take your visitors to the Johnson Mill just north of the Fayetteville mall. Gourmet cuisine at gourmet prices in the Ozarks. If they like hiking, why not visit the Hobbs Estate out by the lake? And you could grab lunch afterwards at War Eagle Mill? There's also the Withrow Springs State Park out towards Huntsville. You could visit some of the area caves. You could trek over to Tulsa, visit the Guthrie Museum, or even take in the Tulsa arts scene. Lots to do this time of year.

I had not thought about the Walton Arts Center but they LOVE to go and see shows so this may be a wonderful idea if there is something worth while playing during their stay!!! Thanks for the suggestion! Tulsa may not be a bad idea either!

Thanks again to everyone who has shared some ideas! It has given me a lot to look into!
