Its pretty much like the informercial. The area is in two counties (Saline and Garland) and two school districts (Fountain Lake and Jessieville). Most of the population is retirees, but its getting younger. There are 34,114 lots but only around 8,000 have not been built at this point.

The Village is run by the non-profit Property Owner's Association. The POA provides water, sewer, garbage, fire, and police services. We have our own dedicated ambulance service but it is not run by the POA.

Let me know if you have specific questions.

Hot Springs Village is a great area to live. It pretty much is as the infomercial states. Lots to do and fun activities abound. It isn't expensive to live in Hot Springs Village either. Great for retirees. If you love to golf, Hot Springs Village is the place to be!

I guess the term "not expensive" is relative. The lowest price new construction I can fine starts at $188,000.

WE are not even going to look in Hot Springs Village, one reason, the cost of property compared to other areas we are considering. yes, as you said, what one considers not expensive others would not even think about paying. NMnita

How much are you looking to spend? That is probably $100 a square foot which is pretty cheap considering that the land comes with it and the houses are rather well built. You can probably get by cheaper buying a pre-existing house.

If you are on a very tight budget though, the social activities that people like to do might stretch that budget though.

We are looking to spend about $150,000 but online I am not able to find any new construcyion under $188,000.
Maybe some small builders out their other than Cooper Homes but I cannot find any.

Cooper has a reputation for being the most expensive, there are many other builders.
