seriously, its one thing to live there and see it daily, its completely different to live elsewhere and come visit occasionally.
It's all a matter of what is important to you. I've lived the big city life, and I've lived in other small towns. El Do and the surrounding area suits me just fine.

Not saying it works for everyone. But hey, it is what you make of it.

Default Police Officer Position In Camden News this week

Camden is 30 miles south of El Dorado. I saw a job posting for a fireman and a police officer in the Camden News paper this week. Just thought I'd mention it.

you gotta have something to work with to start with.

eldo is NOT better now that it was 20 years ago, nor is it better than it was 10 years ago, heck its prolly worse off than it was last year.
There is no new business there, existing businesses and industries have left, more will prolly be leaving.
There is nothing there to attact new business. Incomes are down, unemployment is up, go ride around and count the empty buildings where ind./bus. had left years ago and remained empty.

The shining part of the OP's topic is her BF is going to be a cop, at least thats a booming bus in eldo. Its a full time job keeping those kids ran off the parking lots on friday/saturday nights. ;-)

You all have been such a big help and I want to thank you for that. I am quite confident that I will love the town and the surrounding areas if I meet people like you. It is all what you make of it and I cannot wait to see what happens!

the new issue of Southern Living has a very nice little article about El Dorado's downtown.
