My family wants to meet for Thanksgiving this year. We want to stay in Arkansas, preferrably northern Arkansas near the Ozarks. The men want to hunt, and maybe do some fishing. The women want to shop some. I have been considering Devil's Den State Park. We want to rent cabins for this get together. Any recommendations or advice on where to stay would be much appreciated. Keep in mind this will be in November, so most summer activities for the kiddies will be out. Also, any advice on where to hunt and not to hunt in any specific areas is much appreciated. I have two brothers who reside in central Arkansas, so I will be anxious to tell them of any suggestions for the mens' outing. Thanks to all who have an informative, polite reply.

Here is some information on State Park cabins.

Shopping, it depends on what kind you want to do. If you're looking for antiques and crafts, Mountain View or Eureka Springs would both be nice. Otherwise I'd say you'd probably want to go to Fayetteville and that area.

Can't help you with the hunting, sorry.

It's okay, thanks for posting about shopping areas. I was kinda hoping people could recommend places they have stayed at and enjoyed, places they have experience with. As for the hunting, I'm not too surprised anyone was quick to point out good areas. I'll just have to ask my brother to take a drive up north a couple of weekends and scope out the prospective looking areas.
