... You don't know what a Safeway is.

Those of us over 30 do, it's what Harvest Foods and Brookshire's used to be.

Before Harvest went bankrupt and re-emerged as .... Harvest....

Safeway - the big red and white S sign...another reminder of the good old days!

And Floradam we got a good laugh out of yours, as we live in Southwest Florida. I don't consider this the south. The wife and I go to Teenneesse all the time and we tell our friends here we are going to America.

You know your in California when:
1. Someone speaking english reminds you of the good ole days
2. Your in bumper to bumper traffic on a 6 lane freeway and "traffic aint bad"
3. Your governor can't pronounce "California"
4 The first greeting you hear on the street is "Spare Change"
5. The restroom is locked and the key is attached to a spare tire

Default StormCrow

Okay, I'm going to show my ignorance here. You don't have Cavender's where you live? I couldn't imagine! I also agree, I never drop the "R" in forty. However, I hear people use "fer" all the time. As in "What'd ya do that fer(for)" and "There were fer(4) of them" and of course "Well, there was another wreck on I Ferty."

Default In a land with no Cavenders

aglgbg11 I currently reside in the wilds of Maryland outside the murder capital of the country, Baltimore... Old Bay is the spice of choice here and while I have acquired quite a taste for it (use it on eggs, popcorn, have used it in the past to spice up mayo for french fries) it just doesn't hold up for burgers like Cavenders does. We've been making due with Montreal steak seasoning. However, we might very well be in the finest state of this here union in October full time!! So the fall grilling for Hog games can be done proper-like!

(Sam I Am - congrats on Mod status! we needed a good one to keep the riff raff in line)
