Question Maumelle - Relocation Consideration ...

Maumelle - Relocation Consideration ...

Relocating from Southern California to either SW MO (Branson area) or to Central/West Central Arkansas. Have been to Hot Springs Village; which appears to be a nice retirement type community, albeit a little bit remote from larger cites and amenities. Also, have learned about a couple of the Little Rock-close developments, e.g. Chenal Valley and Maumelle - It does appear Maumelle is one of the nicer communities around the greater Little Rock area for middle to upper-end housing? Any and all comments or suggestions welcomed.

Appreciate any input on Maumelle or similar communites; in terms of quality-of-living, home construction, proximity to big-box stores, retail establishments, recreation centers, outdoor activities, healthcare, HVAC utilities, etc. Thank you.

The Chenal area is very upscale and is in West Little Rock, which is Big Box Store Central. Maumelle is just across the river from West Little Rock, and is a middle-to-upper-middle-class planned community. Both have proxmity to plenty of recreational and outdoor activities, such as Pinnacle Mountain and the Big Dam Bridge and bicycle trail.

But honestly, in a city the size of Little Rock, proximity is not an issue: you can be just about anywhere in town in a half-hour or less. (Driving, of course; as far as walking, some neighborhoods are more walkable than others and if there's certain places you'd like to be able to walk to, that would be another matter.) I'd look more at the type of home/neighborhood you enjoy living in and take your search from there.
