The greatest threat from China is its treatment of the land and the animals. Environmental laws are few. Far from becoming a great economic giant of a nation, China is well on its way to killing not only its own environment, but the rest of the world's, as well. Yes, the U.S. is responsible in a big way for global warming, etc., but compared to China as a world danger, we are nothing. Read Jared Diamond's "Collapse," specifically his chapter on China. It's quite frightening.
Just ask the people of Tibet,or Taiwan, millions of bored soldiers in china,to bad they couldnt help bring a peace force to the middle east,ha ha ha.
so..have you asked the people there?
Tibet is a important part of China and the average income there is even higher than the national average.
How do you know that people of Tibet are miserable? From western medias like Fox?That's fuuny. As far as I know, most people there live pretty happily, lots of my friends have been to Tibet and they told me so.
To be honest,I don't know anyone from Tibet. However,I know a taiwanese girl in my college and she doesn't show any resentment towards China. Her family is pretty good in Taiwan now.
China became the world's largest carbon emitter in 2006, and continues to widen the gap at a rapid rate.
Letters: China is not to blame for climate change | Environment | The Guardian
Rich countries cannot blame China for climate change when the primary reason for the expansion in its greenhouse gas emissions is producing cheap goods for western markets (China passes US as worlds biggest CO2 emitter, June 20). As most of the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere were emitted by rich countries in industrialising, we can hardly lecture China as it tries to develop.
It hardly matters to the environment, does it? To the extent that carbon emissions hurt the environment, China is inflicting the most pain by far. Simple as that.
For me, China is neither good nor evil; it is China, the ancient, the Great Turtle. Is Iraq "evil" with its Bagdad? Is Iran "evil" because of a nuclear reactor? I feel much more danger these days from the US, even as an American, than I do from any other country on earth.
I think you'll find that emissions data against China shows only that their emissions are rapidly increasing. Then you take a look at total output numbers and you'll see what you know you expect: our emissions dwarf the world.
We are the world's evil. Play by our rules or we'll bring democracy =]
