How we remember Vietnam depends how we were involved and which side we were on, but here is something I didn't know about and find fascinating. The January 2011 National Geographic has a wonderful story about a cave that has been found in Vietnam which is believed to be the biggest in the world. It is a great read with the usual fantastic N.G. photos. If you don't have this issue it is worth going to the library to read.
Vietnam does reportedly have some very pretty places and important wildlife habitats. I'm a bit leery of things their government does, but reading Nat Geo isn't any kind of endorsement of that. I may look for the issue.
