Austronesian is a cultural/linguistic term that includes Filipinos, Indonesians, Malaysians, people from Madagascar, and Pacific Islanders. It transcends the labels of "Asian" or "Pacific Islander." That's why I dont like those terms. Filipinos are more connected with the groups that I mentioned than with groups in Mainland Asia. But because Filipinos are labled as "Asians" it leads people to believe that Filipinos are culturally/linguistically/genetically more connected to groups like Vietnamese or Koreans than to Pacific Islanders. But the opposite is true.

You can see the connections if you know where to look. For example. Just look at the numbers in a Filipino language (Cebuano) and compare them to Samoan

Ceb. - Sam.
usa - tasi
duha - lua
tulo - tolu
upat - fa
lima - lima
unom - ono
pito - fitu
walo - valu
siyam - iva
napulo - sefulu

You could find other similarities between just about any Filipino language and any other Austronesian language. You won't find any linguistic connections like that between the Philippines and anywhere on Mainland Asia

Austronesia also mean "Islands of the South". Austronesians are Island people of the south that speak and has the cultural similarities that's why I show videos of our ethnic Indigenous Filipinos to people to understand our ethnic people's culture from pre-hispanic to hispanic till recent and that we have different culture to those from other Asian countries like Chinese, Korean and Japanese to Austronesian people from the South East Asia although Austronesian people of the Philippines already mix with other people outside the Philippines. Specially, those who settled in the Philippines and married with the Philippine Austronesian people aside from our colonizers. That's why we have some influences that is already part of the Filipino Culture.

Balangay Boat is the one that our 1st Indigenous Filipino Ancestors used to travelled around with the exchange of Austronesian languages and culture around South East Asia, Madagascar and Polynesia.

Here is the group of Filipino people who created the replica of the "Balangay"
and using the old method on how they built the boat using a wood nail..

They will try to travelled around the South East Asia and Madagascar Africa to Polynesia.. after they travelled the Philippines using Balangay.

The News is in "Cebuano/Visayan" Dialect

Filipinos was well known as the Ship Builder even during the Spanish Colonization. Most of the Galleon trades was Built in the Philippines
During the Acapulco-Manila Galleon Trade.

Funny how the supposedly anti-racist interviewer is the one obsessed with race, when the interviewees don't seem to give a damn about it.
