Worlds second largest building Mecca Saudi Arabia. Its the worlds biggest clock tower and the worlds biggest hotel. It looks beautiful but as an non muslim I could never go to Mecca.
I hear even if you are muslim and don't speak Arabic the staff would ignore you as very few people seem to understand English. Also alot of the service can be terrible, but people stay there due to the location.

Guess if you wanna go you gotta start al-speaking.
I read about this in a novel where two CIA agents infiltrate Mecca to rescue an American ambassador held by Islamic terrorists. Its interesting they would allow this modern building to be built right next to the historic pilgrimage mosque.

well the Saudis have destroyed ancient sites such as the prophet Muhammed home in the process as well as an Ottoman fort. The reason being is the Saudi authorities interpretation of their version of Islam and they believe the ancient sites would encourage people to practice idolatry if they were still around.
it looks beautiful.
But there's something i don't understand,non muslims can't go there?Really?
