There is nothing special about Antalya, i've been there.

Neither is appealling to me. They are both extremely conservative and corrupt.

I'd love to visit Turkey some day though, it seems like such a fascinating country; not so much Malaysia, it's like nothing special.

They are both beautiful countries, but I would likely prefer Malaysia. I don't think I would ever get bored there. Turkish people have never seemed very friendly to me, I've heard a lot that they are very rude and cold. On the other hand I have a Malay cousin and had a Malay friend years ago and they are both super friendly and fun to be with.

Um, did you know that Malaysia is a Muslim majority country?

Well to be fair Turkey is like 98% Muslim while Malaysia is like 60%, so there's a difference in the degree.

As far as I know, Turkey is a much poorer country and politically more corrupt.

Yep! And if a person lives/works in somewhere like PENANG...it's basically a Chinese-Malay city. Predominately Chinese ethnicity...lots of pork, alcohol, or whatever else a non-Muslim wants that might not be available so often in a predominately Muslim area...

I remember after 911, a Malaysian Chinese Newspaper ran a front page editorial: WE ARE READY FOR JIHAD. They were suspended for two weeks, but still made their point.

Their GDP per capita is about the same so Turkey is not poorer, at all.
