Well it depends on the criteria
Most beautiful City - Tokyo
Most interesting City - Hong Kong
Most fun experience - Taipei
An over to some other criteria
Most scary city - Chengdu (I was by myself for the first two days and I couldn't speak chinese)
Most boring city - Singapore
Worst Experience - Bangkok (I was convinced by my ex girlfriend to visit, but I was not interested in getting back together, pluss the city is dirty and ugly.)

Many people agree that Tokyo is not a beautiful city - its skyline lacks iconic architecture. That said, Mt. Fuji makes up for the lack of architectural appeal. HK is definitely a lot more beautiful than Tokyo. Its skyline is one of the kind.
Bangkok is by no means "ugly". It has so many architectural and cultural gems like the Wat Arun, Wat Po, Grand Palace etc. The evening cruise along the Chao Phraya is amazing.

Anyhow, you're entitled to your own opinion.
Tokyo's city skyline is uninspiring, HK and Singapore have it beat. I think Tokyo is all about the street-level experience.
From afar Bangkok does look pretty ugly: it's skyline doesn't look well planned and it's a jumble of all kinds of buildings just thrown together. But it does have some nice architecture. From a distance Singapore is quite pleasing and not as boring as some make it out to be. A lot of it's attractions lie outside the city centre.

Tokyo has a few icons, such as Tokyo Tower, Tokyo Sky Tree, Fuji TV Building in Odaiba, and a few skyscrapers in Shinjuku and Roppongi. But overall, Tokyo's architecture is a lot like Atlanta or Los Angeles, very modern but lacks character. Like Mt. Fuji in the background of Tokyo, Atlanta has Stone Mountain and Los Angeles has the Hollywood sign.

When you are in a city, then you don't really care about the skyline. On street level Tokyo is really nice and clean. Picture below is Ginza, but there are plenty of other areas who look really nice.
Hong Kong is a cool city, but its dirty and has bad housing.

Sure, but the rest of the city look like ****. Mostly bad housing, crowded roads due to nonexistent public transport or expensive shopping centers.

Still, the architecture of a city plays a big part in getting my favour. Examples are Paris, Rome, New York, Istanbul, Hong Kong - cities famous for their monumental buildings and landmarks.

That picture actually looks ok to me. It's no where as grim as those you see in India. The roads look quite good with no potholes.
