Still India has the largest population of wild tigers of any country in the world. The most likely places are the national parks and game reserves of course.

It's sad that both Mao Zedong and Stalin were largely responsible for the killing of thousands of tigers in China and the Soviet Union because they were declared 'pests.'

Yes it does have a large population. I never realized how big Bengal tigers are until I went to a zoo! I guess TV makes everything look smaller. Yes it is sad, our greatest technological advances are based of mother nature.

Yes I know, and up close too...usually in the zoo they are quite far away so you don't get a good idea of their size. I hope to see tigers in the wild one day - hopefully from the safety of a vehicle, as the video showed even an elephant isn't safe lol. I love tigers, they are beautiful and noble, yet would also be afraid of them. I think we should respect them and their boundaries though, learn to live with them instead of pushing them out...
