Going to Seoul for business. Okay, what should I hit up? Where are the best places to visit, that is?

And yes. I will totally go to Gangnam district and do that silly dance.

Visit Korea (Visitkorea | Official Korea Tourism Organization), the national tourism website, provides many travelers tips for the country and Seoul in particular.

On the home page, take a look at "Essential Tips" on the left side of the screen. There, you can download a free tourist ebook (tourist destinations, restaurants, shopping, phrases, etc.).

If you have a mobile phone (and you can rent one at the airport) and call 02-1330, you can get tourist assistance in English 7/24.

There's also a volunteer tour guide service listed here that if still operational can match you with a free interpreter that can accompany you around town.

A quick way to see the highlights of the city is to hop on a city tour bus at one of the multiple stops in town. For 10,000 won (less than $10), the bus passes by dozens of sites - palaces, shopping districts, museums, etc. On the bus, passengers can listen to a pre-recorded tour in several languages and can get on and off the bus throughout the day as long as they hold on to their ticket.

You can also request taxis with English speaking service if you prefer to tour on your own (and taxi service in South Korea is surprisingly inexpensive).

When you arrive at the airport, look for the information counters with the big "I," where you can pick up travel brochures and get additional suggestions from an attendant on what to see and do while you are in Seoul (or you can call/email and make plans in advance).

Check out this link on Seoul's highlights:

South Korea :The Official Korea Tourism Guide Site

Good luck!
