So saddened to hear of the loss of life.

Prayers of strength and encouragement to the fine folks in the Philippines. Psalm 34:18. Hang in there.

Blessings,

Prayers are irrelevant. Leaving it in the hands of God, who presumably sent the typhoon anyway, is not enough.

What they need is real help: food, clean water and shelter/building materials and antibiotcs, painkillers, antiseptics and other medicines are required - urge your local senator to support governmental help and donate to charities that will specifically help.

at the place that I am working, we are currently ask our guests and colleagues for donation. any old clothes, blankets and if they can give some medicine and canned goods which is easier to open aside from prayers of course. We do action aside from prayers. prayers to touch people's heart to help other people in need.

Please know that our thoughts and prayers go out everyday to all affected by this disaster, as well as to the families and friends of those that may have lost loved ones. What I sincerely hope and pray is that all of these donations and assistance reach the people that are in such dire need over there as quickly as possible.

Our best goes out to all!

.

Yea, if your on the streets on Tacloban wihout a blanket and food for 3 days, hearing someone is "praying" for you helps. Not. What helps is an airlift of supplies.

Prayers are an excuse for inaction, a mental salve for the conscience of those who aren't do anything to pretend they are doing something.

Also praying for donations to reach people in need and not go into corrupt politicians pockets is another farce. Check out the chairty you are donating to beforehand - figures for percentages of money spent on "overhead" versus actually reaching the recipient are known and available on the internet.

Here's a clue for you - every country in the world that leaves things "up to God" is a complete mess. If there is a God, he clearly wants people to use the tools he gave them, mental and physical, not pointless hand-waving and empty words.

Have someone over there knock on Imelda Marcos' door and see if she'll write out a check for $1-2 million to help these people! It would certainly help!

Yeah, I hope those politician to give money. Someone donated almost 200 Led Solar lights, just put it on the sun for 6 hrs and will give light the entire night and they can even charge their mobile. This is so important to them because it will take 2 months before they can fix the electricity there.
