Cereals, museli, yoghurts etc aren't going to be highly popular where so many people have lactose-intolerance.

North China: soybean milk or congee with deep fried stuff. Eggs and baozi (steamed buns).

South China: rice noodle soup, soybean milk, congee, many kinds of dimsum.

I really love all Asian-style breakfasts (frankly, I think eating highly processed cereal with cold milk is a terrible way to waste one in three meals). I think my favorite surprise in terms of breakfast is tapsilog--that thing is as hearty as any breakfast the world over and absolutely delicious.

There's a reason Filipinos have a higher rate of hypertension than any other asian nation....

When i'm in Thailand visiting my family in the morning we usually just eat a light meal such as rice soup with eggs or a little bit of chicken bits in it. Fried eggs with rice and soy sauce is not unusual either. Sometimes we'll have some sort of noddle soup. My parents and grandparents like drinking coffee and eating some sort of bread with sweet condense milk on it.

Nice to know there is a Non Filipino who likes Tapsilog.
I can only have Tapa and rice only when I am in the Philippines.
